My attachment to my jacket(s)

If any of you know me, then you probably know that I am never far from my jacket, like ever.  Summer, winter, fall, or spring, I am usually wearing my fuzzy blue jacket.

It's so soft and warm, I practically live in it! It also has two sets of pockets. (one set outside, one set on the inside.) It is a Dancekin jacket, that's all I know about it. My mom said that it reminds her of Cookie Monster. However, this is not my only jacket, I do have others.

This is the back.

And that's the front. I got this for my birthday and I now where it all the time. I got a men's large thinking that it would be big and cozy, it actually fits me like a normal women's small. ( but it is still very very cozy.)  I also have one more jacket that hardly ever leaves me.

I got this one because purple is my favorite color and this one is also warm and fuzzy. This one is the original jacket, I got it first. I am always super cold, but I prefer the cold to the hot any day. Give me winter over summer. I also love spring and fall because it is warm enough to wear shorts, but you can still be comfortable in a jacket.

I love roller-coasters.

This post is super late! Some of our very close family friends took us to Silver Dollar City on June 9th, I found something out, I LOVE roller-coasters.
The first ride we rode out in the park. ( Also my favorite!)

Next is the Powder Keg, which was awesome, because you go from 0 to 60 mph in a very short time. ( I don't remember anything from the coaster, only the start and the finish, nothing in between, so I went to Youtube and watched the video!)

After this one comes the Outlaw Run. ( the one I liked the least!) There are no head-rests, or anything to hold on to. So it becomes scarier, and really hurts your head. Also and all wood roller-coaster.

Last but not least, Thunderation. Not as big as the others, but a good starter roller-coaster, ( the first one that I have ever rode!)

I'm not sure what makes me like roller-coasters so much, I think that I enjoy the adrenaline rush that I get from the ride, or the scare. I am always excited to get on the ride, and as soon as we start going straight down, 85 degree angle, I regret every decision I made about wanting to ride a roller-coaster. Once I get off though, I love it and do it again and again and again. Let's just say that the head-aches are worth it all. When we left the park and got into the car for the long drive home, I kept thinking, Dad! Speed up, we have to go faster on this roller-coaster!  And I remember that I am not on a roller-coaster, and that my dad can not speed, or we will be pulled over and delayed from home for probably another good 45 minutes.

Salvation Sunday: Frodo, Salvation, and how we can relate.

As most of you probably already know, I LOVE The Lord of the Rings. What most of you don't know is that The Lord of the Rings was written as a Catholic book. When J.R.R Tolkien wrote The Lord of the Rings in 1954, he decided to hide the Catholicism so that Catholics and non-Catholics alike could enjoy the book.

There are many different interpretations of the Catholicism in the books, but I have my favorite theory.

We are Frodo, the sweet, small Hobbit given the task to destroy the one ring.

Just like Frodo we are all given a cross (or ring) to carry on our journey. Sometimes it will be easy to carry, and sometimes it will not be easy to carry.

The Fellowship is the people that God puts into our lives. They may try to aid us, or they may try to stop us from completing our journey.

Like the faithful Fellowship, we will have some people who love us and are always ready to help. However, some may fall astray and try to take us down with them. Staying strong like Frodo will gain us the ultimate reward, Heaven.

Sam is our Guardian angel.

Unlike the Fellowship, Sam's faith in Frodo never wavers, and he always tries to guide us to the right path. No matter how many times we push him away, or ignore his guiding hand, he will never leave us.

Gollum or Smeagol, if you prefer, is a person, who has lost his way on his journey.

He was given chances to redeem himself, and return to the light, but Gollum gave up eternal happiness, for something that would parish, a golden ring. Although it does not take the form of a ring today, greed and earthly goods stop us from eternal happiness. It comes in the form of money, sports, or even a career.

Gandalf is like priest, or more so, a bishop. ( Does the pointy hat and staff look familiar to you?)

Gandalf is the one who helps us understand and use our cross/ring for salvation.

Before we can get to eternal happiness, we have to defeat our cross/ring, even if doing so means death. Frodo destroying the ring is symbolic of his last fight before death, after destroying the ring his earthly journey is over. He now has a new journey, a new purpose. Frodo's trip to the Grey Havens is like our trip to Heaven, it may be a long trip, and it is hard to leave our loved ones, but in the end, we get something far better than we started out with.

The Pros and Cons of being lazy.

We can all honestly admit that we enjoy being lazy from time to time. ( or all the time.) There is nothing more satisfying to me then a nap - if I could sleep all day, I would. However, being lazy is not without it's faults.

PROS

You can get excited to be fully rested after a long stressful day of school/work.

Watching TV is relaxing and can be very educational ( who new that being lazy could teach you something!)

Playing a game can give you a chance do something lazy with friends or family. Everybody enjoys a good game.

I don't always count reading as being lazy, but in a way it is. Also reading a book, with a cup of coffee, on a rainy day? Pure perfection.

So those are all good points of being lazy, and unfortunately, you can not just lie around and do nothing all day.

CONS

Although it is awesome, sleeping can cause you to miss out on stuff, I would know, I have slept through many family lunches, board games, and small stuff like talking a walk or having a deep conversation with someone.
Watching a movie with a group of people sounds fun, but no one is engaging with their fellow movie goer, and (at our house) by the end of the movie someone is asleep.

Not going to lie here guys, this is how most of the games at our house go. Board games are AWESOME until you lose of course. This can all be remedied by (winning) trying to be a good sport.

Because I love books so much, I will not claim that there is anything bad with them so, read on all you book nerds!
There are my pros and cons of being lazy.

Salvation Sunday: Real Beauty.

Unfortunately most people today don't see themselves as a beautiful person. We are always ready to find something wrong with ourselves, whether it be our hair, nose, teeth, or eyebrows. We try and cover our "imperfections" with make-up, trying to hide ourselves from the world; afraid to be seen as ugly or unwanted. But all of this is just how we see ourselves, what about how others see us?

After watching the video above I realized that the people around us see someone very different than we do when we look in the mirror. Beauty is something that is shown through our actions, if we act lovingly with kindness and care, we will be beautiful to those around us. However if we act in anger, hate and selfishness, we become ugly to all who see us. The old saying, It's what's on the inside that counts, is actually one of the most true things ever uttered  by man. We also shouldn't just work on our beauty, but helping others find their true beauty. Try this week to complement people on both their outer and inner beauty. It may be something small, like their smile, but telling them that they look beautiful could turn their day completely around.

Music that I can't help but love.

I am a music nerd, I love music! I play piano and flute. ( I really hope to play more instruments as time goes by, cello, harp, violin, piccolo, trumpet, the list just goes on and on and on and on!) So I thought that I would share the music that I love with you.
( not in any specific order!)

To Make You Feel My Love, by Adele
For some reason I love sad music, it makes me feel alive and awake, and makes my heart happy!

The Lighthouse's tale, by Nickle Creek
I am such a 2000's child, I love pretty much all music from the early 2000's. I love to listen to 2000's music and unwind.

All I know, by Five for Fighting.
Another 2000's song, and yet another sad song, it helps me unwind and it makes me happy.

100 years, by Five for Fighting.
I like this song because it reminds me of how short life really is, maybe you will live for 100 years, but it comes and goes very fast. My favorite line from this song is, " I'm 99 for a moment, and dying for just another moment. and I'm just dreaming, counting the ways to where you are."  Plus the video is cool you literally get to see the man age from 15 all the way to 99.

Chasing Cars, by Snow Patrol.
You might have guessed that it is an early 2000's song. And yes, it is a sad( ish) song, but it makes me so happy.

Broken, by Lifehouse.
I like this song because of the video, not going to lie, it's awesome. During the video you get to watch a man see his own car crash ( going to try and explain this in the best way possible) away from his own body. It only makes sense once you see it.

Soon I was sleeping, by Robby Hecht.
I am not a fan of Country music, but my older sister showed me this song and I can't listening to it, it's sad ( see a recurring theme here?) and it's catchy!

Lost boy, by Ruth B.
At first I hated this song. I thought that it was to slow and that the music didn't move enough. Now I can't stop playing it! My Disney lover side, loves it.

Well, that's it for now, I will probably share more sometime later!
